What happens when you mix a party banner with some real life thoughts? The answer: really cool projects like this one by Peyton Fulford. You may already know this project, but if you don’t here’s a small intro from the 20-year-old Georgia based author:
‘Abandoned Love’ is a participatory photo series in which I had people from all over the world (Australia, UK, USA) on Tumblr send me private thoughts, diary entries, text messages, etc to which I then created into banners and placed on abandoned buildings.
As you may know I’m a romantic at heart, and by romantic it doesn’t necessarily means I only like cute stuff, but I like heartbreaking stuff too. So when I saw the pictures I was kind of caught.
Back in november I traveled with my classmates to Mérida. It was a nice change of scenery even for just a few short days, but I had a blast between our exhausting days and crazy nights.
We visited Celestun, “a natural paradise” in the words of our guide. We rode boats in the lagoon and were supposed to see flamingos but they were like miles away from us and our boat got stuck when we tried to get closer. Then we spotted some alligators and it was… Well, let me put it like this: You’re in a boat with the boys (5 of them), now picture one of them trying to get a closer look from the edge of the boat and the rest of them joking around and trying to make him fall. Yeah, nerve-wracking and funny all at the same time!! Once we were done there we went back to the hotel and partied all night! The next day we went to Chichen Itzá after having breakfast and trying to get the girls to wake up from their hangover. When we got there it was raining! We were all dying on the inside (not from the rain), but I did enjoyed the view and walk. After that we went to this cenote. I was so excited that I didn’t mind it was raining and still jumped in. I’m an adventurer at heart!! By the end of the day we pulled over in Valladolid to stretch and buy some food before we headed back to the hotel. Back in the hotel some of us partied, went back to the hotel, got scared in our room and went back to partying before thinking about going back into our room. It was so fun!!Finally, the last day we had conferences in the morning, a lunch break and a tour around town in a picturesque bus at night. It wasn’t really interesting, but I had so much fun!
There aren’t a lot of pictures from the trip because I was kind of busy making memories with my friends (or it was raining) but I’m glad I captured some of those moments 🙂
I hadn’t shared the pictures because I thought they were lost, but now they’re found.
As I’m mentally preparing myself to run my first half marathon in two weeks, I’m so glad to bring you some of my favorite workout routines. They may not be precisely prepare yourself for a half marathon material, but they are totally worth your time. Trust me.
1. Tone It Up.
All you need is a yoga mat and, at times, some dumbbells. I use wrist weights because that’s what I have at home, but you can use any of them.
This one is my favorite routine, but I actually mix it with others to workout more areas.
2. The Yoga Solution with Tara Stiles.
I’m no yoga expert and I’ve only been to a couple of classes, but if you don’t have the time to go to a class, here’s the solution. There are plenty of videos that go from relaxation to pain relief or strength. Again, all you need is a yoga mat and you’ll be ready to start!
3. Nike Training Club
In this app you choose goals according to your needs. A list pops up and then all you have to do is pick a routine and get started! You’ll need more training gear than in the others, but I’m guessing you can make some adjustments. There are also some routines that don’t need all that gear.
I hope you like them and feel inspired to start working out if you haven’t, and if you’re already doing so, then try something new. If you have any routines, tips or anything, please share!
Sometimes when you say hello and
Take me in your arms
You hold me strong and I get this rush
Lyrics by AlunaGeorge.
So, before my friends keep misunderstanding these posts (you know, the ones where I type down some lyrics I really like), they are part of a new series I’m starting here, nothing to be taken very seriously! Have an amazing night!
